Mates, Magpies & Men’s Health at Wangi Shed. Some words and Video from Dan Repacholi.
I dropped into the Wangi Men’s Shed recently, and let me tell you, the bacon and egg rolls were worth the trip alone. So good, in fact, that even a local magpie decided to swoop in and nick one straight out of a bloke’s mouth!
It was great to catch up with the guys and see the incredible work they’re doing. From fixing things to mentoring young fellas and simply being there for a chat, Men’s Sheds like this one are a lifeline, especially when it comes to looking after men’s mental and physical health.
I also had the privilege of presenting Robert with his honorary life membership, a well-earned recognition for someone who gives so much to his mates and his community.
If you haven’t checked out your local Men’s Shed through the Australian Men’s Shed Association, now’s the time. There are plenty across the Hunter, all full of top people and even better yarns.
And you can support the guys this weekend by grabbing one of their famous sausage sangas,

A good member turnout for the Hearing Australia bus at the Shed today. Tracey was kept busy checking our hearing but still found time to give us a bit of a talk at morning tea (she even supplied some biscuits). A reminder to all to have regular hearing tests.

Much appreciation to Printstream for their generous donation of a Laser Printer to replace the well-used old one (unfortunate thing eventually died). Now comes the fun part of learning how to use it……….
